Numerology has been part of my life for more than seventeen years, and it still surprises me how precisely it reads people.
What I want to do here is explain what numerology actually does, what happens when someone sits down with their reading, and why the people who try it almost always recognize themselves in the result. And whether numerology works is not something I need to argue for. That is something you can test for yourself.
What numerology actually does
Numerology takes two things, your date of birth and the full name you carry, and calculates a profile from them. Each letter in your name has a numerical value, and when those values are combined with your birth date, they produce a structure that maps your personality, your strengths, your blind spots, and the patterns that tend to show up again and again in your life.
That is the mechanics of it. No fortune-telling, no spirits, and no requirement to believe in anything. It is a calculation built on a system with roots in the ancient Chaldean tradition, older than Pythagoras and older than most traditions people take for granted today. The interesting part is that the result, time after time, turns out to be accurate in ways that are difficult to explain away.
I work with the Chaldean system, the oldest numerological tradition still in practice. It assigns values to letters based on their sound rather than their position in the alphabet, which is why it tends to produce readings that feel more specific and personal than the more common Pythagorean approach. What happens in a numerology reading
The reaction I see most often when someone reads their profile for the first time is recognition. People go quiet, and then they say something like "how did you know that?"
And the thing is, I did not know it. The chart knew it. I just read what was there. A pattern they have carried for years without having words for it. A contradiction between how they appear to others and how they actually feel. Something specific enough that they know it could not have been guessed.
If this happened once in a while, I would not be writing this, but it happens constantly. More than a thousand readings, and the precision keeps showing up. I gave up trying to explain it a long time ago. Now I just work with it.
People often ask me whether numerology works differently depending on what system is being used. It does. Pythagorean numerology will give you a very different result than the Chaldean system, which maps your full energetic structure, including positions most systems do not even account for. That is where the real precision comes from.
Why the name you carry matters
Think about how many times your name has been spoken, written, and repeated since the day you were given it. Thousands of times, or even tens of thousands. It is the most consistent pattern attached to you.

Can changing your name change your life?
This is not something I recommend lightly, and it was not something I did lightly. But at a certain point I could see clearly in my own chart what was creating friction in my life, and I could see what a different name would do. So I changed it, before I turned twenty.
The difference was real. The shift was steady rather than sudden. Things that had been stuck started moving. Patterns that had repeated for years lost their grip. I had spent a long time thinking those patterns were simply who I was, and it turned out they were structural. They came from the name, and when the name changed, they changed too.
I have seen the same thing with clients, more times than I can count. Someone changes their name after a proper reading of their chart, and their life begins to shift. Whether you want to call that energy, psychology, or something else does not matter to me. I care about the result, and the result is consistent.
Does numerology work when it comes to name changes? In my experience, it is where it works most visibly. The change is tangible, and the people who go through it rarely look back.
What a reading actually gives you
A reading gives you language for things you have sensed but could not articulate. It names your patterns clearly enough that you can do something about them, shows you where your strengths sit and where your blind spots are, and gives you a sense of timing for your life that most people find useful once they start paying attention to it.
